    Blade changing tool?

There is a bit of risk in changing the blades - but only if you slip. I cut off a little square of the of mesh rubbery non slip material, and keep it with the spare blades. weighs almost nothing, takes up no space and gives me a bit more confidence that I'm not going to slip and doing some damage.

Mystery ranch Metcalf - just arrived. First impression

The extra buckles form the shoulder straps for a little day pack. they just clip into the bottom buckles that attached the lid to the main pack. I like the idea. I bought one to attach to my Cabinet - but haven't managed to get hold of the extra buckles I need yet. If you watch any of the...

    Photography- one photo a day

Just a python - give you a bit of squeeze that one - but they're alright. We've got quite a few species over here that you are better off avoiding but I quite like the carpet snakes - well at least after I've worked out that there not a tiger or a brown or a black. When I see photo's of the...

Is fly fishing the bowhunting of fishing?

I don't think its quite that simple. Flyfishing does allow a person to immerse themselves in the chase for fish, charting hatches, sifting streams and tying flies to match. Learning curve casts, roll casts and dump casts. Same as bow hunter who stalks animals has to put in 100% to get in...

For Spot & Stalk Compound Bow Hunters Only

I use a 5 pin sight. My pins are set in metres - being an Australian. 20,30,40,48 - and I don't know cause I don't use it. The 48 is because I use the bow in the ABA field archery comps and the max range is 48 (or its supposed to be - some of the local range captains are a little fuzzy with...

Do you hide your camp, or camp in the open to deter others?

That would deter other hunters - but you might be sharing your basin with a bunch of teenage boys looking for a different sort of action...

    Issues with Gout

I had a few flare ups a few years back before I even learnt that I liked hunting. Would happen every few months. The last straw was when I did a half ironman event and day after that was the worst flare up I had. Assume it was dehydration and all that exercise in one day that caused a lot of...

    Conundrum..

Congratulations - another different big adventure. Don't worry, thats pretty much the way I read it. Its the internet and words - people don't know you and the there's no tone or body language to gauge the "tongue in cheek" bit. Everyone will read it differently - and in the end, those that...

    10% off at Outdoorsman tripods/packs

Bummer - it happens all the time. Go in to shop - buy something then see it in a catalogue for less. Hey if you bought it today and tomorrow they put their prices up - Would you jump on and transfer them more money? What would you think of the customer service if they rang you and said "I...

    Adult onset hunting

Adult Onset Hunting - sounds like a disease. Well its definitely an addiction. I started archery a while back because my eldest son(now 19) wanted to give it a go. I had no interest in hunting animals - or so I told myself. Was happy to let arrows fly at the pictures on the target butts. Then...
