I’d also just do general. Shared my 8 this year with two others and drew regular gen at 5.33 happy to jump off the treadmill & just hunt. -
Wyoming 90/10 for elk
Yikes 10 years! 😳 I bought an IL LL in 2006 after moving there just 60 days, and the requirement was only 30. Easily the best $190 investment I ever made. 😂 Ended up living there 13 years but moved to IN in 2019 to escape the ridiculous taxes. Not subsidizing million dollar state employee... -

Very simple. I only hunt public land, and the IN state deer management regulations are not conducive to mature bucks. Plus the number of public properties far less than IL. 32 gun days, 16 in peak rut; 12+ years of xgun inclusion; no bow nor gun hunter quotas, no NR bow nor gun quotas ravage...- Zim

Illinois but only because I bought the last LL sold, in 2006, have had the luxury of scouting/hunting tons of the public for decades due to my job traveling the entire state, and get most my travel expenses reimbursed. Our group is cashing in at 5.33 hoping that will be enough. I think with the special fee increase failing we will be safe. I want to go bad this fall after having my 25 point Colorado hunt stolen last year due to a virus from hell. Never again. Flu shot booked for August 15th this time. -

Lol I got 8 points and am bailing next year for a general partly due to the task force outfitter welfare chatter. Was a general contractor 20 years and there was no welfare offered in my trade. Why outfitters? Oh ya………. -
NR Colorado Archery Elk 24PP 72 Yr
I burned 25 NR points this year for 61 archery. I’m too cheap to pay an outfitter. But if I were you I’d just do one of the 61 October rifle hunts. That’s what Randy Newburg did a few years ago in that situation. He looked over a lot, and took a fine ~320 bull. I love archery, just not $8k... -

How many days to you devote to an elk trip?
Just got hit in Colorado for archery elk unit 61. My plan will be as stated. Head there a week early to scout and stay the entire 4 week season if needed.
