I just wanted to shout out Camerland for their excellent customer service. I ordered a Sony A7iii back in July with a 24-105. Sony has kept pushing back the dates for these to be available. Joel and his team went above and beyond to get me the camera and a lens before I went on a trip to...
I tried the Lowa Tibets, the Salewa Un Vulturs, and finally settled on the Salewa Rapaces. The initial fit is amazing! I will report back later as I get some time in them.
Just wanted to bump this post up. My buddy and I met with Clay here in Iowa. Buying boots from him was honestly one of the best gear buying experience's I've ever had. Great dude and amazing service!
I've had pretty good luck dealing with them with a thermacell, but it's not as effective for me with gnats as Skin so soft or bug soother. You have to apply it regularly, but it seems to help quite a bit. It's also really easy to come by here in Iowa.
Something that I have been playing around with is forcing myself to only take what I can fit in a camera cube (minus the tripod, of course). The one I have is the Topo Designs camera cube. I don't actually plan on using that for when I'm packing in my camera, but I'm trying to get creative with...
I was just curious what people are using for pano gear in the back country. I'm going to be ordering an A7III from Cameraland in a month or so, and would really like to play around with pano stitching and focus stacking before I head west this year.
I've been looking at a couple options:

For a pretty decent fast prime, the 85mm 1.8 gets a lot of really great reviews. If you want something a little bit wider, the 55mm 1.8 is still considered one of the sharpest lenses for the Sony system. Like everyone above, I'm going to be order the A7III too.
I haven't had to use it, but mine came with a patch kit. Did yours not have that? In the field, I have used tenacious tape to patch small holes in an old pad that I had. However, I'm sure there are much better options for a permanent solution.
Thought I would post an update: I just ordered a Black Eagle Instinct Test Kit. I know this is the micro-diameter version of the vintage, but it seems to be a nice arrow. We will see once it comes in and I get a chance to shoot it around a bit.
I have the a6000, and my "camera bag" is actually a Topo designs field bag. I have the one that they designed with Howler brothers as a small fly fishing hip pack with the waterproof bottom. I typically carry my camera in that with some fly boxes and other fly fishing necessities when i go out.
