Hi and thanks for the write up. Which part of the stake loop did you break? Was it the sewn in loop, the plastic line tensioner or the line itself ? Thanks
I wish someone like you would post a video of setting it up that easy in the field. If I could see it, I might be swayed to go that route. Seems like maybe youve got some technique that nobody else knows about. Im not doubting you but it just seems most around here have a terrible time with that.
Hey Dan Im having trouble responding to you on the regular site. They'll only allow me to respond once every 24 hours. Didn't use to work this way. Anyway it just looks sloppy. I hosed it down with a water hose and it didn't leak but that doesn't compare to a sustained rain or snow storm. Fwiw...
Been trying to include pictures of my seam sealing job. Maybe I can put them here. These are the worst spots. It just looks sloppy . Ive hosed it down with a water hose and it didnt leak but thats not like a sustained rain or snow storm. Fwiw Ive sealed a few tarps like this and never had one...
Bought this in Oct. 2021. It's been set up twice in the yard. Haven't been able to use it due to bad health. Comes with stuff sack, 10 stakes and sack, 8 gatekeeper straps for guying out for ventilation or for attaching a nest to it (not included) and aluminum adjustable center pole which weighs...
I'll likely be selling my Cimarron within the next week. Not because of the politics but because Im just one dude and I dont need all that tent. Its been set up once in the yard. It is too bad about SO though.
 Glad to hear you like my Cimarron. Seriously since youve used the Cimarron and I havnt, I value your opinion. I think I'll keep my Cimarron and sometime down the road buy a Guardian.
Pretty sure the mountain smith is much bigger than the paratarp. More like the super tarp or maybe the old mega tarp. Im just going by memory though. Id bet money that its alot bigger than the paratarp.
Sorry Josh. The reason I put that question to you is because I found an old review you did on the Cimarron and it seemed less than favorable than similar tarps and I already own a Cimarron, just have never had a chance to use it.
Okay Josh. Lets pretend you want a shelter big enough to sit up and eat in, big enough for your stove and all your wood for 3 days plus all your gear for one guy. Its gonna be used in heavy snow and the weight of the shelter in your pack is of no concern. Also you hate sag in the wet weather...
I read it. Ive had enough of tents saggin in on me when they get soaked. You seem to be okay with the eolus in wet conditions. I went to a cimarron as my solo shelter so I wont have wet tent in my face in the morning. Big weight penalty for one guy but pyramid tents seem to work best for me in...
