Favorite holster mounting options for backpacking

I've got a GunfightersINC Kenai Chest Holster for my Glock 20. It works well, but I might switch to a FHF/Razco combo. https://gunfightersinc.com/kenai-chest-holster/

    Origin of the term "run"

Does anybody know when/why people started using the term “run” instead of “wear” or “use”, when talking about their equipment? For example, “I run Danner boots” or “I run Vortex binoculars”. I'm not trying to be a grammar n*zi - I'm just genuinely curious if it’s just hunting/shooting bro...

    Schnee's beartooth or granite

I got a pair of Granites a couple weeks ago. While my feet feel indestructible in them, compared to the Lowa Renegade GTX I've been wearing, I think they're overkill for the terrain I typically hunt in. I'm planning to return them for a pair of Beartooths.

    Dehydrators

I've got an Excalibur 3500B. It has 5 trays, so decent capacity for what I've used it for thus far (jerky and apple chips). Looking at the other Excalibur models, I do wish mine had a timer and clear door.

    Best knife for game

I've been using a Benchmade Grizzly Creek for the past few years. I thought it was sharp out of the box, but now I know better, after having it sharpened by a local bladesmith before hunting season last year. Even after processing my buck, it was still laser sharp! s30v steel is good stuff!

    Transporting Meat in Cooler

Here's a link to the episode: https://www.themeateater.com/listen/meateater/ep-227-red-cutter I wish I'd been able to listen to this episode before my late season blacktail hunt last year. I didn't let my buck go through rigor mortis before sandwiching him between bags of ice in my coolers for...

    Chamber Vac Reviews

100% agree Re: the Vacmaster VP215. Also, 4-mil Vacmaster bags are my go-to, but if you're sealing anything with bones or a sharp edge, you may want to get some 5-mil bags, as well.
