    Ca. Draw is up.

Take your time to acclimate. I just took a Bowhunter Education course and the instructor said that viagara is good for hunting in high altitudes.

Anyone solo backcountry hunting over the age of 60?

My wife doesn't like the idea of me going alone so now she joins me. I told her Kodiak is home to large brown bears but that didn't discourage her.

    Yuma and El Centro

Is your original question intended to become an AZ resident while working in CA ? Yes, that would be the only perk for traveling an hour each way every day.

    Yuma and El Centro

I live in El Centro. Grew up in NorCal, foothills of the Sierra Nevada but have lived the past 30 years here in the desert. That statement above by Mattb is extreme.

    Haul Road questions

Planning a trip for next year 2021 assuming Canada will be open I plan to drive there. I do a lot of diy hunts with my own gear and mostly travel by air so I got the weight and size of gear down. Ducks

Ducks are my passion as well. Grew up hunting them at age 12 in CA near Sacramento. I'm passionate about big game too but lately waterfowl has dominated my thoughts again. I've been living in SoCal for the last 25+ years but I travel a lot for waterfowl. Headed back to Cold Bay Alaska in January.

What type of gear do you have way too much of..and don't care?

I grew up poor also. #7 of 8 kids. I'm 57 and still poor but I never let lack of money stop me. I learned how to embrace the suck as the soldiers say. I've traveled all over hunting diy on a shoestring, doing multiple times what most hunters consider a "once in a lifetime hunt". I'm a bargain...

What type of gear do you have way too much of..and don't care?

Tents and sleeping bags. I've got single tents, 2 person , 3 person, 4 person. I've got for myself and my wife pairs of down sleeping bags -20*F, 0*, 20*, 40*. A set up for Hawaii won't work for Alaska or NZ in winter, and vise versa.

    Lanai, Hawaii Axis Deer

Have hunted Lana'i many times. Low archery kills is not for lack of deer, just the opposite. Hard to stalk deer when there are so many eyes and ears.

    Lanai, Hawaii Axis Deer

None at all. What Hawaii asks for when arriving is so that they can prevent any kind of invasive species from taking over the islands. Leaving Hawaii has plant and soil restrictions but none on game animals, birds, and fish.

    Hunting tent recommendations

A truly all season tent will have lots of bug screen for warm summer nights but with it the ability to close up all those bug screens for cold winter weather. The downside to this is that it will weigh more.
