I’ve found the trigger assembly bolt loose after receiving an action back after rebarreling. I noticed that by pushing the safety too far forward, it would make the trigger fire. Took the stock off and noticed the screw loose. I check it every time i have the stock off now, but never had it...
6.5mm 140 vld hunting, .030” was the most consistent out of my old 260
7mm 175 elite hunter .032” is where I ended up after testing.
The hybrid ogives are supposed to be more foregiving to seating depth. But it really depends on what the targets are telling you when doing seating depth...
Do you reload or rely on factory ammo? Factory ammo I’d go 6.8 with a sierra 175. I don’t think there’s much for factory 7saum out there.
Reload, I’d still probably go with 6.8 with upcoming adg brass and a Berger 170. But a 7 saum with adg brass and a Berger 175 would be almost identical in...

The heart wants what the heart wants. If you’re dead set on wanting a browning in a 6.8, chances are you’d be disappointed if you choose something else, wondering what could have been. Might as well buy what you want the first time.
If you don’t reload, find what ammo works for you and buy...
Comparing his cbto measurement which is +.020” to mine, I’m guessing he’s in the 3.45ish coal range touching lands. My 7prc is 3.430” touching with 195s.
For the 195’s to the lands, I’ve seen ranges from 3.410”-3.47” across different forums

I’ve never bought ammo from them. They seem to have a lot of ammo options to pick from though.
Op stated planning on using 175-180 gr bullets, so would be more than enough and would save him $700 and an aspirin
Maybe he was asking in general though🤷
Find another reloader who has as long of a measurement touching the lands as Ryan. I read over tons of people’s measurements before choosing my reamer for the 7 prc. Other measurements I found were 3.46 and 3.47 touching the lands with the 195. Ryan’s 175 measurement touching lands is 3.47...
This is the 180 eldm at 3.34” .030” off the lands. Looks like hornady pretty much “optimized” the 7 prc for this bullet. .030” off lands, base of the shank above the neck/shoulder junction in sammi form. Sometimes you need to do more than the math and actually measure the bullet to the...
I’ve never owned a seekins but wouldn’t doubt that they make quality rifles like the rest of their products. After shooting tikkas for so long and then having a custom built with a 90 degree bolt throw, I much prefer the shorter tikka throw. I don’t think op can go wrong either way, but I...
Run the numbers between a 175 out of the prc at 3000 fps and the 195 at 2850 and you’ll see that all you gain with the 195 is recoil. Berger load data shows max loads with these two bullets about 150 fps apart with like powders and same barrel pretty much across the board before someone says...
The 180 eldm to the lands is 3.37” in a sammi chamber. So 3.34” will be fine in a tikka, if you want to hit the lands, some tikka mags will be close, otherwise get one of the aftermarket drop in mags that go to 3.4-3.41”. No worries with the 7 prc in a tikka.
Wasn’t compressed either. Stopped before reaching pressure because I found an accurate load to use for hunting season and called it good for now. Will fine tune this spring
Has anyone tried using a Milwaukee heated vest as a mid layer for all day sits in below freezing temps?
I’ve always layered up under mid weight scentlok camo, but upgrading to Sitka stratus and fanatic gear for next season. Wondering if the heated vest would be good for under the stratus...
