    Dropping pack to stalk...

NGL, you might as well carry your pack with all that. When I do, I have my bino harness with bear spray attached, knife attached to harness, my garmin watch, phone, my bow/rifle, and a snack in my pocket. I also hydrate before I drop that shit and carry those STM sticks from mountain ops.

I need to learn to bugle and cow call before September

I have a lot of trouble with diaphragm calls because of all the work I have had done in my mouth. If you are having trouble with the basics and can't produce a smooth bugle or mew, Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls has a really good "bite" reed. Select "A" Bull It's pricey but it produces a really...

Can't wait to see these in Cabelas and Bass Pro🙄 Quantity over quality now. Good for Racicot, bad for us. Good thing I just bought a new frame from them.

What are you eating on your hunts this year?

I usually just have peanut m&ms, homemade snack sticks, hydration sups, granola bars, and maybe a bag of pretzels. I'm usually day hunting so the meals are at camp and those consist of peak refuel, and backpacker's pantry.

What knives do you carry on your hunt?

I switched to the Randy Newberg ESB last year and I couldn't be more impressed. I did one decent muley, a cow elk, and my bull from this year (all gutless) with one set of those knives. Granted that 3 different blades come with it, but they outperformed anything that I've used before.

    Toe Numbness?

Use that insurance and get some orthodics. Or make sure your laces aren't cranked down on the top of your foot. I've encountered like problems with boots that have the laces cranked on the top of my foot. What kind of boots are you running?

    Poacher or not…. Thoughts?

Judging by how strict California is with gun laws, it looks like he's using an old M1 from the family. He just looks like a hiker with cat protection, no reason to raise the alarms.
