I had a LT5500 on a K3 frame for a few years. It's easy enough to swap some buckles and make it work.
The only problem area i found was the top of the bag to the top of the frame. I ended up using gatekeepers for quick access to the meatshelf, but k-clips would be tighter. Most of the hardware...
That's a realistic goal imo. If you can find a pocket of deer, there is usually one or two decent bucks in the area.
Just like out west, big woods deer will transition between different areas depening on food sources, thermal cover, and time of year. If there is a good mast crop (acorns), deer...
I don't have experience with the FHF pouch, but I also had a hard time finding a decent phone storage option. Tried the shoulder pouches as well.
Best I've found so far is the eberlestock large padded pouch. Fits larger phones/otterboxs, padded, quiet, one handed zipper operation as long as...
I've hunted Sawyer and Ashland counties since the early 2000s. Deer numbers were good until about 2012 in the areas I mainly hunt. There are still pockets, but you will have to work to find them. This includes MFL, NF, and state land.
Last rifle season, I still hunted a 9-10 mile loop that had...
I use an older Cabela's Guide Vest for still hunting whitetails without a pack. It's heavy, but the large back pocket has enough room for water, snacks, and an extra layer if needed.
For western hunting, I use a basic vest with minimal pockets that are always empty.
I wasn't interested in the original design as it simply wasn't my cup of tea. After seeing the prototype, man, this has potential.
Are there any plans for interior pockets or mounting belt pouches?
I use an Exo lid on a Kuiu Pro LT 5500. The Kuiu lid is a floppy bag that didn't come close to sealing the drawstring top. The Exo fits like a glove. I also prefer the pocket layout on the Exo compared to other lids on the market.
I'm trying to decide on my next bag purchase currently...
I picked up a pair of the Corrugate Foundry last year. Wore them in temps from the low 80s in Sept to the low/mid teens in Nov chasing elk. Absolutely love them for western style hunting, but imo they are too noisy for stand hunting whitetails.
I have a pair of the LL Caminos with 300-400 miles on them. They only get used on hunts where I need the extra support (I generally use rubber/knee highs here in WI). I've used them from 85 degree days in Colorado to 20 degree days with 12" of snow in Iowa. They fit my feet like gloves and were...
