Update. I called them and they said that the lifetime warranty is for the normal lifetime of the product. For a backpack they have defined that as 8 years. So it's a product lifetime, not mine. So, no warranty coverage, but they did offer a substantial discount to me for a replacement pack.
I have an Kuiu Icon 5200 backpack (purchased 2013). Last week both carbon upper supports broke. I sent the warranty info to Kuiu and they denied the warranty claim, stating: "it does not fall within the coverage guidelines set forth by our Warranty Policy due to the age of the frame."
Not sure...
I put it in because of it's history in MASH. The orginal movie had a requirement for a song titled "Suicide is Painless" for the Last Supper scene for a faux-suicide event. The song was supposed to be "the stupidest song ever written." The lyrics were written in 5 minutes by the song author's...
Shooting sticks.
Rifle remains lightweight and unencumbered. When sitting on a meadow the sticks are great. Good height adjustment. Also, I don't understand comments of sticks being unstable. I'm rock solid off mine. Of course, I still wrap the sling around my arm and push out my elbow for...
Thanks. I hadn't planned on sleeping in my truck the night prior, but it was easy to dress and start hiking towards the bugling elk in the dark. My surprise when I pretty much stepped on a bedded cow and she just relocated about 30 yards away.
You mentioned a house being able to "breathe." My SIP ICF home does not breathe. It is pretty much airtight, as it should be. That's why in new construction "non-drafty" houses you install an air exchanger to handle humidity and fresh air.
I have a Timberframe with a full ICF basement and SIP walls and roof. The insulation value is outstanding. Very little needed to heat it here in Northern Minnesota.
Proper bracing a must.
Go for a good cow elk hunt. Many more shot opportunities. The joy of hunting early on. I think the need for scoring the size of racks should be deemphasized when starting out. It will come later.
I bought my daughter a 7mm-08. It's a great, low kicking, big game gun. It is a Browning A-Bolt II, left hand, youth model with a shorter stock. I load the same Berger 180's that I use in my 7mm Rem Mag and she is deadly with it.
Very manageble kick.
