Wyoming Elk Hunt - 13 points

Hey Buzzy, did you get to do your hunt last year? How'd it go? I would've suggested Shoshone Lodge Outfitters with Josh Martoglio. Absolute killers.

    Wyoming unit 51 advice

Going to be extremely difficult to find a resident willing to take you if you don't already know them. I'd suggest offering a trip in exchange from your state or considering a unit with less wilderness. If you end up in the same canyon as an outfitter over there, they can be quite ornery. Be...

    Unit 15 NM Rainfall

That's great to hear!! Wow, your report on the antler condition last year is much different than most the bulls we saw and outfitters we talked to. I don't think we saw a bull that wasn't broken up. Congrats on a beefy chocolate bull, that's awesome. I hope it is a good year this year! Cheers

Wyoming unit 35 cow tag - base camp ideas?

As long as weather cooperates, I'd camp on the PC loop road just east of the lookout you're talking about. Should have any issues finding elk. If there's more than 6-8" of snow, hunt about as low as you can towards private.....

    Sitka Camo Pattern For Elk

Movement and wind are SOOO much more crucial than a camo pattern. I wear plain colored pants and shirts regularly bow hunting and have no issues inside of 20 yards as long as wind holds up and I control my movements..... second part can be difficult when mack daddy walks out haha

    Experienced elk hunters, little help?

When I start initially I look for wilderness areas. I also look up ranches that outfit trophy bulls and look for public land nearby or border. Once I isolate wilderness or remote areas, if it's heavily timbered I look for pocket meadows, springs, creeks away from roads and trails. Ideal areas to...

    Shoshone Wilderness - John Andre

Is it Shoshone Lodge Outfitters in Cody, WY? If so, I know some of their guides, the Martoglio's, and it is a killer operation. Awesome accommodations from the lodge to packing in on horses for late season hunts. Find Josh Martoglio on Facebook he has photo albums with the trophies they hammer.

I almost bought a landowner tag for that hunt this year, but I've got too many lined up already. Good luck! Post up how you do!

    Unit 15 NM Rainfall

I was fortunate enough to tag along on a friends elk hunt last year, and will be returning this year to Unit 15 NM. We had an absolute blast on the hunt, although we didn't turn up any true giants we saw plenty of elk and a good number of bulls. I was wondering if there are any NM residents that...

Hello Randy, I can't click the link, would you mind sharing the title of the youth video? When I copy and paste it brings me to your hunt with Bruce Pettet, which was awesome. Very similar to the terrain I hunt in Oregon.
