    The Kifaru specific should work on any waist belt that has molle/ pals webbing. I don’t like the shoulder strap portion of the Kifaru specific version, it’s too floppy, I run the Kifaru specific waist belt and the universal shoulder strap on my Kifaru pack.

    This is good advice, there isn’t much weight penalty to sizing up, and the bag can compress down for a smaller load. The opposite isn’t as easy to do.
