I have looking at a ruger guide gun with the laminate stock in 300 win mag.
The only thing that keeps me from buying it is the stock .
I don't know how to take care of it if I get caught in rain or snow.
This rifle will be used to elk hunt in the mountains.
So how do you keep from ruining one...
I have been saving to get a 4 wheeler to use for elk and deer hunting but you all have me rethinking things between a 4 wheeler, dirt bike ,sxs, and e bike.
I was reading the other thread about 4 wheelers and was wondering if anybody has experience with the 4 wheelers that Bass pro shops sells.
They looked good to me, and the price is what caught my eye.
I have never owned one but am wanting to buy.
So what say you guys stay away from them or pull...
am going out to Elk Head Mountain to do some elk hunting and have a 2-wheel drive truck (don't really need 4-wheel drive where I live) so have been thinking about chains.
So will chains be a good investment?
Buying a new truck is not feasible at this time.
No real reason. Would a Ruger American be a better choice?
I am on a fairly tight budget and really thought I wanted a Kimber Hunter and have been looking and can't seem to find one would that be a better choice?
I have read this a couple of times now and been thinking about buying a Remington 700.
Around Indiana we don't really get the kind of weather that you get out west, although this rifle will be going to Colorado to elk hunt.
Should I forget the Remington and look at something different? I sure...
I am new to elk hunting as you can tell from my previous post.
My question this go around is do I need an elk call?
This is all so new to me so I thank you for all the advice and guidance .
