    Where’s the quality snow camo?

I’m definitely interested, thanks. Now I just have to wait for my size. Awful proud of their products $$$$, but I don’t mind if it’s quality.

    Where’s the quality snow camo?

Howdy Sliders, Has anyone noticed the lack of quality snow camo on the market, or more specifically, has anyone found anything worth buying? Overwhites are abundant, but not made for an active hunter. A drawstring waist on a ten mile day is weak sauce, as is the oversized fit inherent...

    Deer sled options?

This looks pretty amazing, and I love that you can carry it with you. How does it do in deep snow?

    Kryptek Jupiter

Agreed. I really don’t wear anything else anymore.

    Kryptek Jupiter

Thanks for the fast reply, and sorry about the backwards rain flaps. Seems like that should be a warranty deal.

    Kryptek Jupiter

Howdy Roksliders, I’ve been all over the web reading reviews on Kryptek’s Jupiter rain gear, and nowhere is there any mention of the noise factor of the products. Is this stuff like a loud gore-Tex material, or a quieter tricot type of material? If the current weather pattern continues here in...

Spotting scope straight eyepiece vs angled eyepiece

Ended up with a straight Razor HD. Optics are just ok, but couldn’t pass on the deal. As mentioned by others, the target acquisition is really easy. Spend the money on a quality tripod!!!

    New horse adventure

Bumped the darn “post reply” tab too soon. Where I’ve been hunting the last ten years is chock full of grizzlies, and I’ve literally seen seven different grizzlies in the same day. I have two horses now, and I’m working on a third. Going to pack in about 4 miles, and hunt from there. Keeping...

    New horse adventure

Hey, I’m in a similar situation, and I’m in Wyoming too. I guided thirty years ago and had 70+ days in the saddle, but it’s been sporadic since.

    Hydro or solar power generator?

With horses in the equation now, it seems like I'll be trying a battery. Guess I was kind of drawn to the novelty of the turbine, as our hunting camp has awesome flowing water. I'll check out the Ankers. Thanks.

    Hydro or solar power generator?

I appreciate the suggestion, but my luck with small battery packs is zero. I've tried about five of them, and they've all been crap. Temp fluctuations in the high country, slow charging, no charging. Amazon reviews haven't helped any either. I'm open to suggestions though! Thanks

    Hydro or solar power generator?

Howdy RokSliders, I am thinking about possibly trying a hydro power source for my backcountry camp, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the WaterLily, or something similar. I was originally thinking about going the solar route, but it seems like it would be cool to be able to...

Spotting scope straight eyepiece vs angled eyepiece

I hadn’t thought of that till you mentioned it. That just made my decision easier. Thanks.

    Gravity water filtration

Thanks AKDoc! It seems like a lot of the guys are using the Platypus system, but that's only a four liter bag. I'm drawn to the MSR and the Katadyn for their volume. From what I can see, it seems a though the Katadyn filter is actually in the bag. Is this accurate, and if so, how much of a...

    Gravity water filtration

I appreciate that suggestion. Most years the creeks near camp are flowing pretty good in the fall, so I'm pretty sure we can make a mostly clean quick fill happen. This year could be different, seeing that we are currently at 17% of snowpack in the middle of March.

    Gravity water filtration

Howdy gang. So after years of being afoot in the backcountry and competing with horse hunters, I’ll be happily in the saddle this year. With horses in the equation, I can afford a wee bit of extra weight and comfort. I’ve used Aqua Mira for a long time, but I’m thinking about a gravity...
