I am actually super stoked to chase bucks around with stick and string this year. A couple college buddies that got me into it, and finally moved back down roped me in again! We were all pretty firm believers in not having many options in the realm of “high country” bucks in our state, but have...
Picked up two boxes of the Hornady CX as it was my only option really. They market them as pretty weather resistant which is attractive, and they hold close to the same drop chart as my scope, so I am interested to see their performance.
I did mean the Barnes, not Berger. And hand loads are an option, just need to find the right bullet. I’ll have to give them a look. And what is the IIRC? My understanding was that tipped bullets were less reliable with expanding fully, but I obviously have very limited experience and research.
Hey people, recently ordered a Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech in .300WSM. I wanted to get feedback from people on which bullets they like to use and why. I would like to use the Federal Berger TSX in 180gr as I have used these in my .270 and 7mm with great results. But if my gun doesn’t like them for...
This is an awesome bow, I just haven't used it in the last few years and don't plan on it in the near future. I have a big hunt coming up this fall and could use the money towards upgrading gear or rifle. I am looking to either SELL for $1,200 OBO or trade for a lightweight .300 Winchester Short...
Looking for a set of gaiters that are on the light weight and packable side. Gonna be needing them for snow, so would like high calf size. Let me know what you have had success with!
I have my measurements, and that’s why I was leaning towards the Nemo Disco, and the Rab bags provide real survival and comfort temperatures, but again, most of their 0* bags are just too slim. I’ll look at the WM Kodak, thank you!
I have looked at a couple reviews of different bags for big people, but all of them have a 15*F rating for the most part. I looked at a bunch of different quilt options but have ultimately decided to stay away from them. Maybe will try one out for warmer weather. I was super interested in the...
There are bucks in there, but I haven’t ever been in there during October. A lot of the stuff where you would imagine getting away from other people isn’t super good deer habitat. There are other areas of the unit that will carry larger deer populations.
I’ve hunted early 39 a bunch. There isn’t really anywhere that people get too concentrated given the amount of tags, and I’ve only come across one guy sitting in a hotspring with a muzzy waiting for a doe to walk by😂 DM me on Instagram if you have any specific questions, I might be able to help...
Hey everyone, just trying to some more posts going. I get after it all here in Idaho but am mostly in love with chasing mule deer. Excited to ask questions and get answers, have been back-pack hunting for a while now and have some sweet tags to hunt this year. Looking forward to being apart of...
Well the trip that I am planning for is know for extremely variable weather, and when talking about a could weather situation, in my specific case, I would be expecting near 0*- 20* F temps at night. This will be in a floorless shelter with a lightweight wood stove, most likely snow on the ground.
