Western Montana FNG

hello, new guy here. im from western Montana. mostly hunt deer, sometimes we find an elk when we are lucky. every few years I will get an antelope tag, still hoping to get my first black bear.

does anyone only carry 1 knife for hunting

If I am packing in or walking in a ways, I’ll go down to 1, maybe 2 knives. But I do make sure I have a small sharpener with me.

9mm for bear protection, even grizz!?

Can it be done, sure. Has it been done in the past? Yes. Does it mean that the 9mm is a good griz self defense round, no. But if it’s all a person has, it’s better than nothing.
