That was me last year in New Mexico. Got in them almost every day, but could never close the deal. Makes this year in Wyoming that much sweeter though.

No worries. I was very critical of my shot. I rushed it and shot a tad high and should have waited for a quartering away shot. However, I did manage to get both lungs and he only went 30 yards at the most.
Hoyt RX1, with Iron Will v125 broadheads. (Shooting close to 300fps.)

Great billy!
I just got back from Anchorage a couple weeks ago from my first goat hunt. Hunted in 14c near Inner Lake George. Were you close to that area?
Licking my wounds in an anchorage motel right now. I fly out in 7 hours (1:30am AK time). Toenails are popping off. Hardest hunt. Hiked over 40 miles in 4 days. Firtst shot this big billy at 542 yards. Needed a couple more in him to finally stop him.
Hardest hunt I've ever been on.
Of course, i heard that a lot, for years, while i planned a goat hunt. Nothing, i mean NOTHING, could prepare me for hard this actually was. And I'm in great shape.
thanks all
Last weekend, I bought a Tikka T3 Lite in 7mm mag and topped it with a Leopold VX3 3.5x10 40.
I put a box of shells through it and the last two 3-shot groups at a 100yds could be covered with a quarter.
