Boot Leak, Miserable Feet, how do I prevent this?

Just coming back to update my findings in case someone with a similar issue finds this thread in the future... Did this, the boots leaked like crazy! Until they stopped leaking at all. I thought it was very strange. In a way this was in the right direction. Turns out the boots didn't have...

Boot Leak, Miserable Feet, how do I prevent this?

Yeah that seems like what's happening. I just dunked my boots to see what was happening. The outside wetted out and the inside gradually got damp. I guess it still does stop the water leaking through overall, but that doesn't really help with the socks getting wet issue. Thanks for the...

Boot Leak, Miserable Feet, how do I prevent this?

Darn. I've only had these for one season. I did get them from REI though so maybe it's time to take advantage of that return policy. That's the direction I'm headed too, but while my ankle strength is good enough to get by sidehilling in trail shoes it's real slow going. I just want something...

Boot Leak, Miserable Feet, how do I prevent this?

I'm recovering from a big rash and several blisters on both feet after doing a turkey hunt in the rain last week. My Goretex boots on both feet decided to leak on me after a short hike through a field, and then they leaked much more after being submerged for a second in ground that had basically...

    Non-Rubber Boots for Mud

This is why I come here - I had no idea these existed. I'll try them this season, thanks! I like them for short distances but I like to flush birds on farm field edges and it can be a lot of walking. I haven't found anything comfortable or light enough to be well-suited to this.

    Non-Rubber Boots for Mud

Hi Rokslide, Anyone use non-rubber boots for mud? Most rubber boots don't fit me, the uppers don't cinch down enough (as I'm on the skinny side) and my feet are shaped too weird to be locked down well in the heel without hurting. I usually don't get super deep into mud, but I want something...

    Breathable, thorn-resistant pants?

That seems worth looking into. Sometimes I see some great Scheel's stuff and wished I had one near me. Yeah I'm contemplating just splurging for them because they have such good reviews. I really want a year-round pant, and the First Lite seems like they'd be hard to like when it's 90+. The...

    Breathable, thorn-resistant pants?

I was thinking of getting something thick but ventilated. I was considering chaps for a while but decided I wanted something easier to move uphill in. Thanks for that, First Lites might be good enough for me.

    Breathable, thorn-resistant pants?

Ah is that their only pick-resistant pant? As far as I can tell that one is unvented.

    Breathable, thorn-resistant pants?

With Black Friday upon us I wanted to see if I could get info on breathable, thorn-resistant pant options. I've had my eyes on the Kuiu Kutanas and Pro Brush for a while but neither on sale for Black Friday. I'm not exactly a Kuiu fanboy either so I wanted to see what else is out there. I...

    Help with computer decision

I also really like the old MacBooks, but be warned they're not the same anymore. They're a lot less durable and very annoying to fix on your own. Surface Books don't have the best reputation either.

New to scopes, how to approach weight and magnification needs?

Thanks for the great advice everyone! I got a used scope with a good warranty to try it out. Good resale too so I'm not out too much if I decide I don't like it. It's average weight (25 oz) and FFP. My eyes are still pretty good and playing around with it I haven't had trouble picking up the...

Colorado “Managing Wildlife in an Era of Mutualism.”

Can't comment on other states since I've lived in California for most of my life. California is different because it's considered already "fought and won" for the left. Somehow it might've been lucky when it was won earlier, when people were a bit more moderate. So these issues rarely come up...

New to scopes, how to approach weight and magnification needs?

I'm pretty new to buying decent-quality scopes and wanted to get something that'd fit my needs properly. But since I don't have a lot of experience I don't know what those needs are. Weight, magnification, it's hard to figure out what I need. I'm not planning on taking long shots more than 300...
