I have both and thought the hatch was awesome but the more I use it the more I find it’s flaws. It’s very hard/impossible to adjust when you are behind the gun and has limited adjustment as well. The hatch ADM clamp does not fit Arca but I did swap an Arca clamp on to it no problem.
For hunting...
A couple years ago I decided to go for it, last year I decided it was a dumb waste of money and stayed in the sidelines, this year I couldn’t help myself. Anyone know when the draw results date is?
Most of these have been said above but this is what I would do and the order I would do it.
Ditch Folder
Ditch Bag Rider
Lighter Grip
Polymer 3-rd magazine
Ditch Suppressor for SRS Ti Chub Brake(can't believe I'm saying this because I love hunting suppressed but you will pretty much always have...
Washington has antler point restrictions and the hunting is terrible for the most part now. I used to think it made sense but it doesn't. We just need to keep encouraging people to let young deer walk if they want to see big ones. I think the worst deer to shoot is a 2.5 year old that is a 3...
Yes, but per OPs comment I actually think he's talking about a different less known area. OP I say go for it and stop telling people about the spot you found. I think I was able to find your spot very quickly and now might go hunt it myself ;)
I am 99% sure I know where you are talking about and have hunted the area by boat in many different seasons. It's a beautiful area but you will be limited for sure and lots of pressure around that access point. One of my friends successfully hunted it by foot as well. DM if you want.
It seems like unobtanium most places but my local Scheels has it and according to the website many Scheels locations have it in stock.
I hunt open sights muzzleloader only in NV. Is it worth converting to the Blackhorn? The price per half pound is offensive. Scheels has it for $79.99
That’s amazing. Beating a 7PRC with a case that holds 15 grains less. I gotta get myself a long barrel 280ai.
But also I still haven’t figured out how to break in to the black market so I can sell my extra organs for RL powders.
This survey sure makes me feel a lot better about not having got a 300” yet. I’m not surprised by how many people are at zero but I am surprised how few people have killed multiple.
Good to hear it can happen. I will take it when it does. I don’t usually have a shortage of tags since I hunt NV and Idaho. Also drew a unicorn tag in NM this year so I’m relieved I didn’t draw in MT.
Thanks I’ll give it a go. I just know I will get a much better case fill with the 4831. Sometimes that matters for accuracy. I’m guessing I will only be able to safely put in like 65gn of 4350.
As much as he can be annoying he doesn’t claim to be anyone special. He says it himself that he wasn’t that knowledgeable when he started the channel and is not an expert but tries to give his honest perspective as a regular dude. I’d rather see people be like that than pretend they are an...
I think you are pretty spot on. Not sure what press backfire is saying to get now but I got the Frankford one a few years ago from his recommendation and it sucks because micrometer dies don’t fit and the dies don’t stay in place always. Also get a trimmer that goes off the actual length not the...
When you get a 7PRC. Since that is the logical choice, make sure to get ADG brass and you will see much better performance. Lots of people are seeing disappointing performance with Hornady brass.
I don’t think this is going to humble anyone. We all know how well we can shoot. I have some rifles I would bet my life on this challenge and some I would not even try it because I know it wouldn’t do it.
If your goal is to save money, don’t reload. The rabbit hole of precision equipment and additional money spend testing loads will just eat all of your dollars.
With that said, you should totally start reloading and people have great answers above on cost.
