    Last minute/cancellation hunts

My late Summer/early Fall just became much more open and flexible. I've got the money saved for a hunt, fitness, gear etc and I'm wondering how to go about looking for and/or getting on lists (if such things exists) for last minute or cancellation-type AK Dall sheep hunts? I missed the Sheep...

Buying ammo and having it shipped?

Les, I work in the ammunition industry and I can tell you this type of thing is rampant now. It's horrible. If it doesn't feel right, it isn't. Super low prices alone = scam. Stay with known retailers/soures. They're not only safe, but they're the people manufacturers are shipping to now...

    Watch Suggestions

Garmin Tactix Delta Solar. The solar charging feature is very nice to have in the field on extended hunts/trips. I never worry about charging even when using the GPS non-stop (vs the older non-solar versions). My old eyes are getting worse by the day so the large screen is very helpful...

    Savage lightweight storm 7mm-08 review

j33, Full disclosure, I work for Magtech-S&B ammunition, so the Sellier & Bellot is what I use. We offer an S&B 140gr FMJ load that's great for training and general range work. It's (pre-Covid era) low cost and readily available. I use the 140gr Softpoints in Africa on plains game up to kudu...

    Savage lightweight storm 7mm-08 review

My 6.5 is like any other lightweight rifle I own (Fieldcrafts, Kimber etc), it wants to buck but I've settled into a shooting routine holding it down over the top of the scope or bracing the stock/action in shooting sticks and that makes a huge difference. I hate brakes on hunting rifles

    Sanibel,fl guide recommendations

You'll learn a lot spending a day with a good guide. Blake's fly casting instruction is a bonus.

    Sanibel,fl guide recommendations

Norm Ziegler's is the fly shop on Sanibel. Great spot with a lot of gear etc. Buy some of his schminnow flies. Island Pizza near Norm's for excellent pizza and cold beer. Capt Blake Matherly is a great guide and just plain nice guy. He can run spin or fly trips. I'm a fly fisherman so I...

Sold WTS Smith and Wesson 629 Mountain Gun

These are fantastic, limited production revolvers that are 2x the quality of new production N Frames. Looks to be in great condition, box and papers would be nice, but the price is right on.

This an opportunity to start a Primer manufacturing company?

WCB's summary is right on. I work in the industry and can confirm that making primers as a stand alone item is a no go. Loose primers for secondary market reloading are a by-product of producing them for your own loaded ammunition needs, hence the current scarcity.

Seeking advice on roof racks/cross bars/storage

I normally use Thule or Yakima with great results. Just bought a 2021 Chev Z71 Tahoe and neither company has bars available yet, so I had to go with the Amazon China-specials. Not my first choice but no other options available now. They've been surprisingly good with SUPs, a canoe and Yakima...

I'm impressed with these two outdoor companies...

Agreed, they both do a great job. S&S has been great also.

Glock VS. Springfield XDM in 10mm?

Just take a look at what law enforcement and serious Mil/Govt customers use, especially at the Federal LE level. Those choices are made after incredible amounts of testing for durability, reliability, ease of maintenance, shooter performance etc. That should be your start point for a gun you...

Glock VS. Springfield XDM in 10mm?

+P ammunition is not a problem with Glocks. Firearms manufacturers are reluctant to definitively comment on +P+ because it is not an official SAAMI recognized pressure-velocity standard. The issue with the XD grip safety is that it will deactivate the pistol unless a near perfect grip is...

    Savage lightweight storm 7mm-08 review

Thanks, it's a great all-around package. Like I say, this rifle is a sleeper. It really surprised me. My standard, go-to rifles are Fieldcrafts, which I love, but the Savage shoots right along with them.

    Savage lightweight storm 7mm-08 review

I'm with NewtoSavage here.....I bought one in 6.5 for my 13 yr old based on the length of pull adjustment options and overall compact size. Figured it would be a semi-forgettable kid's gun. I've been thoroughly impressed with it. The barrel does seem short at first and the forearm gap is odd...
