    Kid shotgun recommendations

I am in the same situation, my boy is the same age and weight. He’s doing his hunters safety right now. I will get him on a deer this fall and maybe try a turkey. But I have decided to have him wait before he walks around with a shotgun. First of all most of the guns are too big for him to...

New to archery.. picking arrows and broad heads!

Congrats on the new bow! Arrow weight, spine, ect is Deffinately a rabbit hole. Personally I wouldn’t worry about expensive arrows yet, the black Eagle outlaws are pretty cheap, and are durable. But I agree with some of the other posts on talking to a reputable bow shop. Im at 29” draw, 70 pound...

Do you cut them out of sheet metal? I have tried to make a few knives with limited tools, so I didn’t get too far with grinds ect. But I like seeing your work! Your doing a great job!

    Choosing a Dog

You have Bachman bay Kennels, and Wires west in south central Oregon they are both Wirehair breeders but they both have excellent dogs. Domonic Bachman is a NAVHDA judge and a straight shooter. The most pp breeders in the PNW have used Bob Farris’s lines in their own and I have only heard good...

    Choosing a Dog

Each breed has variations of personalities and temperaments and bird drive. I hunt with the parents or go hunt with the breeder if I can. Also be realistic with yourself, how much will you really hunt it? 9 months of the year it will be a family dog, most of us don’t need Ferraris, Toyota...

What do you do for a living?

Potato farmer Spring and fall are busy with planting and harvest, I can get out for turkey but haven’t been able to for bear. September 10- October 20 is harvest so not going anywhere during that time. I have to find hunts before or after those dates. However I work on a large farm and have...

    My 2023 archery buck!

So I have been archery hunting mule deer for 8 yrs. I have had success but it always depended on how much effort I put into it. I work on a large farm so I have a good layout of private land to hunt. With that we have some pretty good bucks. So my goal this year was to get a nice 4 point buck. I...

    SKRE gear help

I live in eastern Washington. Early season would be here or in Idaho with a family member. I hunt the late November archery deer in SE Washington which temps range from 50-20 degrees. And I put in for a November Idaho muzzleloader hunt every now and then. That hunt is below 20 degrees and we...

    SKRE gear help

With cyber Monday I picked up the SKRE Hardscrable jacket, hardscrable pants, Kodiak pants, both light and mid weight gloves and a beanie. This is my first real dive into camo and “expensive” hunting clothes(normally I use army surplus wool and my Carhart jacket). I got both pairs of pants to...

isn't the Final Rise vest a knockoff of the Wingworks Vest?

I agree there are only so many variations. However it deffinately is not a knock off. The final rise has a belt/lumbar pad, and there are other small features that make it different and I would say better than wing works.
