Hey all, just a little intro and some shooting with this new bow. It was a Christmas gift from my wife. I like it alot.

    Hoyt Satori 21" Riser

Hey all, just an informal intro and some target practice with the 21" Satori riser, set up with 40# Samick R3 Long limbs. About 46# on my fingers at 32" draw length. I've had this riser for 10 months or so, but just got around to making a little vid with it. It's a nice shooter. Shane

    Southwest Archery Spyder XL Recurve

Recently I bought one of these bows. I'm real impressed with the bow, especially considering the modest price. I also have a Toelke Whip, Hoyt Satori, and a few others as a base of reference. Here are a couple vids I put together recently. This is just a short clip at 20 yard practice...

    Galaxy 70" Longbow

I have a few shorter longbows, but had an itch to try something longer, like at least 68". I saw this 70" longbow at Lancaster and decided to give it a try. For $179 delivered it sure is budget friendly. No, it doesn't compare to my Toelke Whip, but it is a nice shooter, and could hunt as...

Mo' Foam Chunk Target, User Review

Nice target, looks like it will outlast the bags. I like it.

    Velocity testing, Bodnik Slick Stick

I've got a fairly long draw length, around 32". Along the way I've shared some chronographed velocity numbers that are pretty fast. Some have suggested to me that maybe my chrono is off. It got me thinking, and I decided to run some velocity numbers at different draw lengths. Using a 60"...

DIY Backstop with Rubber Stall Mat

I was using the full 4x6' rubber mat. It was kind of awkward to move around being big, heavy, and floppy. So I cut it in half to 3x4', and cut down the swingset frame as well. Easy to move, still big enough to catch most misses. I like it. Shane

Walking it back, 20 to 40 yards

So I set up the video cam to help with my self-analysis. I shot one each at 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 yards. Working on the subconscious skill. I ran through the course about a dozen times. Filmed the first couple. Kind of messy, but it is what it is, practice, building that memory...

    Samick Discovery

Picked up a Discovery with the 45# R3 limbs a while back. I'm just using a stick-on rest. Seems to shoot well, but I'm curious if anyone else is shooting a Discovery, and how you have it set up. I was kind of wanting to set it up for shooting off the shelf, but maybe it's best to leave it as...

    Toelke Whip (40#) Chronograph Test

I got into this archery addiction (grin) about a year ago. I promptly had a Bear Montana longbow riser blow up on me. That convinced me to go deeper in the pocket and order a Toelke Whip. Went with a 64" Whip, 40# at 28". What a nice bow. Anyhoo, recently I got around to doing some chrono...

    Hello from MT

Great forum, I know there is a lot to be learned here. I recognize some of the names here, and I'm the same MontanaMarine from some other forums. I'm fairly well versed in shooting and loading for precision and long range. My precision rifles are a couple 308s and a 30-06, all customized Rem...
