Here is the ram I got last year. He was 15 years old. Definitely on his last year. The few lower teeth that he had you could take your fingers and wiggle them. He was at 400 yards and I took him on the 3rd day of the hunt. We saw him the first night and then he disappeared for two days. We actually had given up on finding him and were moving towards a different band of rams we saw 4-5 miles off in the distance. On the hike over to the other rams we ran right into him. He was down in the bottom of the valley feeding on blueberries. I'm not kidding. When we went up to him he had chewed blueberries in his mouth. He is about 35 and 36 on each side with 12 and change bases. What I find impressive about this ram is that he is still almost 12" at 8" out from the base. This was a amazing adventure that I was able to share with my wife. She was a trooper and a huge help packing that guy out. This was a draw tag in Alaska. 4A0F1FDA-E92C-40C8-8CB4-FE0C5A933911.jpg2FCFAAB7-A41B-4E39-A782-32DB07AE636F.jpg04AE3DA7-7551-42D9-8C38-CB8307A0C100.jpg4A0F1FDA-E92C-40C8-8CB4-FE0C5A933911.jpg5E574862-6314-4D89-B512-EF4D3F51CFC9.jpg657708C4-C15D-4554-8693-2574BAA82B7F.jpg

What an incredible sheep and to have your wife with you as your partner is just outstanding! Way to go. Could not have taken any finer animal with that age he had on him. You most likely saved the old guy a slow death. I took a mule deer buck one year that you could tell by the gray face and heavy roman nose that he was ancient. The biologist looked at the jaw and teeth and said he could only judge them up to about 10 1/2 years and this guy was way older than that.
