Awesome Rokslide Giveaways--- But the Process bugs me!

Well I voiced my opinion and started a war.
Rokslide is my favorite website and that's not going to change. Don't confuse my opinion for whining. I own a website and didn't even know that fb could up you in the search engines. Please note that I posted in the feedback forum. I got trounced on just as hard on kuiu for suggesting a tougher shell for the puffy....go figure.
So let me repeat. Its an opinion and I voiced it, if your toes are hurt sorry, and toughen them up.

Thanks for the input and now I need to talk you to about my business model hooked to a Facebook page for my company to up the spots in search engines. I had no idea why it was all twined together like those 37 "rewards cards"on my girlfriends keychain. Social media here we come. Back to hunting and gear talk.

You're always welcome (and everyone) to post opinions but some subjects are going to draw a response.
I wasn't responding only to you. This keeps coming up and people keep taking jabs here and there so I want to set the record straight on why FB isn't going away.

Yes, it's true that FB can rank your website way higher. I tried not using it with my scouting/outfitting business and then with it. After 18 months with FB, Night and day difference.

I checked the blog schedule and see two great giveaways that don't require FB coming up.

Kudos Robby! I too was shocked by the sheer nerve that someone would have the nerve to complain about how they might go about receiving a FREE gift. HELLO! Are you kidding me??? Wow. Don't enter the contest! Give the non-whiners better odds that THEY deserve more than YOU.

Thanks for everything Rokslide staff. Some people just complain. And by the way, I enter all of your contests. ITs not that hard, but I guess because im part of the social media generation it's just so easy for me. Hold on , let me take a selfie.

Its all about return on your investment. Small, family owned companies need exposure and cant just give away prizes without seeing a return. Social media is the biggest bang for your buck right now.

As mentioned, we've done many contests that require nothing more than being a member (look at our Membership drive from last year, ((oh yea, a few of you complained about that too!)) and the other giveaways we've done.) I've got several giveaways coming up that don't require FB for one reason or another. However, most will require it so quit your complaining or for my peace of mind, find another website. Our Rokslide pushup contest had like $2000 in prizes! (Oh no, some of you can't do pushups????) Sounds like a bunch of socialist whiners when I hear this crap.

Workx53, there is NOT a better way and don't go into any business that relies on reaching the public or you will have to bow to the evil alter of FB

5miles, there are thousands and thousands of hunters on FB and is why virtually the entire hunt industry is on there.

Those who won't like something they haven't tried, no problem, don't enter the contests!!!!! I'm a thinking person and I can visit a sponsor's FB and make an educated decision to like or not. I'm not asking you to marry them!

Colonel, I bust my south end to make sure every contest I run is done right as far as entries. The average givaway on the blog takes me 6-10 hours!!!!!!!!!!! I count every like and share that I can find (manually btw) on both the Rokslide and participating sponsor site. Very time consuming but I promise it is run as a fair as possible. If you follow the rules EXACXTLY, you will be entered.

Many of you would be shocked at how good the odds are on these giveaways because people simply don't follow the rules. Wow, just like any contest in the world, you have to follow their rules.?!?!

For you socialist-minded complainers, I'm sure there's a boat heading to Cuba- get on it or quit coming on here and bashing our business model. Just the fact that you're on social media (Rokslide is social media) complaining about social media shows I've probably got my blood pressure to high over this, but I'm sick of it. Post publicly on this if you're going to debate me. I don't need your passive agressive PMs clogging my inbox. I've got gear to sell or Rokslide won't be here.

Now you guys have done it! You went and made Robby mad. I hope everyone realizes how much time and effort the administrators put into this site. Thank you Ryan, Robby and staff. I was initially irritated with the FB participation as well, until I thought about the incredible advantage it gives the business. You can't blame the Rokslide staff for promoting the web site and it's sponsors. I personally don't have a FB page because I don't like what it causes. But, if I want to be part of these giveaways, I will have to join. Let's all remember, we're talking about FREE gear, here. Let's not complain.
