Got this lion on my camera. Pretty darn cool. I've gotten multiple lions the last 2 years but this would be the 1st one that's got some state sponsored bling.
Washington collared mountain lion.

That collar is huge. I thought they would be a little less intrusive.
Thats cool. For my senior project in High School I went on a "ride along" with a local game warden. We collared a big cat. One heck of an experience.

I spoke to the local biologist. I didn't get any pictures to specifically ID the cat, but it's part of a study that started 5 years ago. Collars were installed over a 4 year period, so that collar is anywhere from 1-5 years old. Most have fallen off by now or the batteries have died. He did get pictures of another collared adult tom from earlier this year in a neighboring unit. I think this ones a female.
