I'd had a previous encounter or two with this buck in some very thick woods. I was running late this afternoon after setting up camp and didn't want to risk bumping any deer that night already be on their feet in the woods so I flopped down on ground on the edge of a field with few expectations -just passing time and getting a quick warm up hunt in for the weekend. Amazingly, this old buck stepped out and I took a 167 yard shot.

Yeah, seems like this year in particular has been one for the books in TN. I've seen more deer killed in the 150+ range than ever before. At least it seems that way.

Impressive deer, how long are his MB's?

I'll get back to you on that. My buddy did some measurements while I was butchering, but I was more focused on that. I recall him saying 23.5 inch inside spread. I'll measure it out tomorrow.
