I received my zebralight H600w MKII about a week ago and had to wait for the orbtronics batteries and charger to arrive before I could give it a run through and compare it to some of my other headlamps.

Well, batteries were charged and it was time to take it outside and do a side by side comparison. In addition to the zebralight I had a black diamond that was rated at 90 lumens I believe and a Princeton tec rated at 165 lumens. I spent about 20 minutes comparing the three and even brought multiple people over to help with the comparison.

Was the zebralight the brightest...yes it was but it definitely was not 855 lumens brighter then the other two lights. I, along with everyone else that was watching had a very hard time differentiating between the zebralight and the Princeton tec. While the zebralight has a neutral white and Princeton tec has a much cooler white. The difference in brightness was not as much as I was expecting it to be. Zebralight claims 1020 lumens on high and if that is the case my other lights are either underated or the zebralight is.

Truth be told for all the hype around these lights and the fact that I had to buy Li-ion batteries and an additional charger...I am not impressed. I was really hoping to be blown away, however such was not the case. Cant say for sure at this point if I am even going to keep it.

Series question here did you program the light per instructions? Zebra lights have a programable switch that you need to follow in order to unlock the additional lumens.

You probably had it set on the stock settings which you'll find the lumens output for that setting in the instructions.

Zebralights that I've used are some of the best I've tried. Only complaint I have is you can blow through a battery fast on high but if you set it up right and only use what you need I found them to be fantastic. My 2 cents hope it helps.

Yeah, I went all through those instructions. While it does allow more versatility in adjusting the output to lower levels I didn't find anywhere in the instructions that increase the output to a level higher then H1 which is one of the main sublevels.

Something is wrong here, I can see out to 100 yards in the spot from my 600 and the flood easily lights up 40 yards. I wonder if it isn't your batteries. I had a black diamond icon when I got the zebra a few years ago, it made that 200lm light look like a 25lm energizer from Home Depot.

My hunting buddy was laughing this year when I lit it up for him, he said we could of easily had plenty of light for a 30 yard shoot with our bows at night from the light it put out, he ordered one when we got home.

I use the zebra batteries and this charger http://www.amazon.com/XTAR-Charger-...UTF8&qid=1419136957&sr=8-1&keywords=Star+wpII

Make sure when you buy the 18650 battery you get the 3400mAh not the 2600mAh, makes a big differences.

Had several chargers. This is the best I've had so far.

Batteries are good, they are orbtronics 3.7v 3400 mah. Charger is good. Turns out it was me, I wasn't double pressing the button in the correct to order to cycle through all the sub levels. Finally figured it out....it is "retarded" bright now!!

Switching to a Zebra running an 18650 cell is like trading up to a prettier girl who doesn't bitch, put's a smile on your face and makes you wonder why you didn't do it sooner! :D

Double pressing, triple pressing and quadruple pressing gets a little confusing at first!!

Are you still on the prettier girl comparison, or the light?

Sorry, I'm just bummed Santa didn't pick up on all my Zebralight references this fall.

So does this "deal" seem too good to be true? Where are you guys buying your protected 18650 batteries?

I just ordered my zebralight h600w, and want to make sure I pick up a good charger and batteries. I always shop around for the best deal, but I will NOT sacrifice quality or safety to save a buck or two.

I get my batteries from Orbtronic. They have a 3600mah too but theyre rarely in stock. 2nd link is for the charger I run, havnt had any issues with it.
