PWS for me in a week. Hopefully have a nice harvest, last few winters have been rough there for deer. Meat trip is the name of the game for us, and maybe a buck or two.

Just took a few pics with my phone...Bear season doesn't start until the 1st, so I'm here for a while..
Tough country, pretty much a goat hunt for deer...Bear season in 3 days, so I'm sticking around.

I got a little bit of a chuckle out of this, the knee picture, that is. Mine looked just like that last month after packing a couple goats off the mountain. Packing a heavy load, down steep terrain, sure does a number on the knees. Getting older doesn't seem to help either.

Kodiak 3rd week of Dec.

A few pictures from last weeks Kodiak deer/goat hunt. Not the best quality because they were all taken with my phone.

The first one is a doe I got on Kodiak in 2012, we were 14 days into a bear hunt and living off mountain house the whole time. The fresh tenderloins when we got back to camp were probably the best meal I've ever eaten

The second one I got on Kodiak in 2014, We saw a lot of spikes, but he was the only bigger buck we saw the whole trip. I'm getting him mounted since he's my first 4 point (west coast standards)

Frenchie and I hunted Tonki Cape during the rut for a few years,, this is a nice one but we always saw bigger deer that we couldn't connect with. There was a very big brown bear that would clean-up our kills and false charged us about once a year!

Immense luck far exceeded my marginal skill level on this SE AK hunt last month. Completely addicted now.
