MODEL 52 LONG RANGE




The Model 52 Long Range is a “beefed up” version of our standard Model 52 precision bolt action rifle. It uses a slightly more robust stock (made by HS Precision & available in all HS paint schemes), a heavy sporter contour 26” Wilson Arms Co. match grade barrel, & uses a muzzle brake (with 5/8x24 threads). It utilizes a larger, more aggressive bolt handle & has a bolt shroud styled to match the bolt handle. The rifle comes standard with a picatinny rail optics base machined from solid steel by Ken Farrell Ind. and is available with 0, 10, or 20 MOA of adjustment incorporated into the angle of the rail. The rifle weighs 9.6 pounds. The Long Range is available in two stock styles of the Model 52, the Excalibur and the Jackson Hunter. These rifles are known as the XLR & JLR respectively.


The rifle features our proprietary trigger made in house at Cooper Firearms & can be adjusted as low as 1.5#. The rifle uses a 3 round detachable magazine and additional magazines are available. The HS Precision stock contains a CNC machined bedding “chassis” inside it & is also glass bedded around the robust recoil lug which combined with a free floated barrel, promotes superior accuracy & consistency.

The XLR comes in all matte blued configuration with a fluted barrel & spiral fluted bolt body. The stock is basically an American Classic Sporter style in shape & dimensions. The JLR features no fluting (it is available on request) and a stainless steel barrel mated with a matte blued action (blued barrel available on request). The biggest difference between the two styles is the shape of the stocks. The JLR features the prominent roll over “Jackson” cheek piece found on other Cooper Firearms Jackson rifles. It also features a semi beaver tail forearm. It works marvelously off hand or from artificial support. Both styles are available in all stainless steel upon request.

Nice looking rifle and the rebarrel option is great.

The rifle shown is a JLR chambered in 300 Win Mag. I will try to find some pictures of an XLR & post them too. The differences are basically the same as the differences between our Excalibur & Jackson Hunter stock styles in other rifles. This particular JLR has a few added options. It has a spiral fluted bolt, camo stock color, & cerakote. A JLR (or any Jackson) normally comes with a matte blued action & a stainless barrel (blued barrel a no cost option). The standard stock color is black with red webbing.

I suppose I should mention that while using our rebarrel service, caliber can be changed at that time (to any caliber available in that model). Barrel materiel (blued or stainless) can also be changed.

Nice looking setup. My father-in-law is getting closer to using the rebarrel option on his Model 21 in a 223. Should have kept track of the bullet count as it has been a lot. Still shoots great, just not quite as good as when new. The 52 in a 28 Nosler sounds awesome.

If I start shooting a rifle again and decide to purchase one, I think I will go with these guys. Nice looking work.

I keep coming back to this thread for the pictures! Any chance of some more? And maybe a MSRP price list for some of the different options?

Say a JLR with stainless receiver, fluted barrel, fluted bolt, cerakote, camo stock with 2 studs in the fore end, chambered in 7mm rem mag with a 1 in 8 twist barrel?

Just trying to find any info on this particular model. It's not on the website. An itemized "menu" of options and prices would be great!
