Honestly, ditch the soft shell and just use your rain jacket as a wind blocker. I don't rate softshell at all

I have never had a soft shell until I grabbed the Timberline jacket and had it out for about 10 days straight in the mountains. It rained a bunch and I used it as my rain jacket as well. Love it
