Element pants or Switchback pants

For a while I was kind of dead set on the Element Pants by Core4element for this California B zone hunt in October but now I am heavily considering the Switchback pants. I did not realize the switchbacks came with the same removable knee pads as the Elements do which is a plus. And I like the idea of being able to layer the pants with thermals underneath if needed. The majority of the hunting I do in CA is during the early heat which is another reason why the Switchbacks seem more appropriate. Any input on this quandary would be great
 
I hunted with the switchbacks all last year. Great pants for the money. They are comfortable and pretty breathable. Definitely an early season piece of gear. I did rip a small hole on the butt cheek when I scooted across some really rough rock but I am pretty sure it would have torn a hole in anything I was wearing. Hope this helps.
 
I have the switchbacks and they work great for the B season. I don't have the element but have to believe they would be way to warm for the normal temps we get. Like you said, if by chance your lucky enough to have cold or rain just layer up. Personally I don't care for the knee pads and leave them out as they feel awkward but thats just me, you may like them.

I hunted all year in the element pant. It is quite a bit more sturdy and I found with the crotch vents I could get them to circulate very well. A majority of my season last year was for speed goats on the eastern plains of CO. This hunt is in August and average daytime temps were 95+. I did all spot and stalk and found the element pant to be great. Will they be a touch warm, yes, but in my opinion the added durability and versatility were what set them apart from the switchbacks.
 
I have both pants. You can layer under either one. Last year in September, I never wore my element pants. Temperatures ranged from the low 30s to the low 60s. I prefer the lighter weight switchbacks for warm weather.
 
I have the element pants and like was stated above, with the vents open they are not that bad. I like to have the knee pads in, and if you stop to glass for a while you can take out the knee pads and stuff them under your butt for some extra cushion. When the 2013 lineup comes out they are supposed to a have a pant that is in the middle of the switchback and element called the selway I beleive may want to check that out before you make a commitment.
 
I have both pants as well. For me the cut on the switchback is not awesome. The element is a great pant vents open or closed work in all temps I have seen 20s-mid 70s.
 
I thought for a minute that people were getting new limb coverings for their Hoyt and Mathews bows! Obviously the clothing manufactures are playing off popular bow model names.
