Danner Mountain Assault Boot

Thought this was an interesting offering by Danner. http://www.danner.com/mountain-assault-boot-7-canteen.html

Dissappointed to see it is "imported". I'm sure if it was built in Europe it would be stated as such, so I assume China. They have a similar "military" offering that is made in the USA for a hundo more.

Anyway, at a starting price around $269, might be decent for those looking to save a buck or two if it ends up being reasonably well constructed and has some support to it. Hey, it's got a nice rubber rand on it and an appearance of all the mountain boot specialist offerings. Worth keeping an eye on anyway as I haven't seen it anywhere prior.

My dad has a pair of the full curls, looks just like those but an inch taller. Put about 50 miles on them last season and they handled well for him. Those boots seemed to have a very roomy EE size which was good for his foot. Plenty of room in the toe.

I could have sworn I had checked out the Full Curl before but apparently not because they are very similar in the lower boot. They just look like a departure from anything Danner I've seen (or had) in years past. Personally it looks to me like they have the right elements incorporated, just haven't heard anything good about Danner in some time and I didn't like the last pair of Danner's I had....which weren't cheap at all.
