Vortex SS-P Summit Tripod

Now if I could talk them into using speed locks instead of twist locks..

Love this little tripod

You can't take the actual ball head off, but you can unscrew the middle post a few inches below the ball head. You can then unscrew the hook at the other end, flip the middle post around and install a different head of your choice on the stud where the hook came off. I've got a Vanguard PH111-V panhead on mine.

Hook? I think mine is missing something! Can you PM me a picture?
 
The hook is for hanging weight on the bottom of center post. It may have only been in the box not on it. Just a silver hook nothing special.
 
Here's pics of the center post on my Summit SS and how it comes apart. Hope it helps.
