Was finally able to unpackage and set up my new Hexpeak XL Teepee. I used an REI aluminum extendable foldable pole for it. Basically just set it up so I could seam seal it and get an idea of what it looked like. This is my first tipi style tent. I must say I am very impressed with the quality. Especially for $200. I will be using it as a solo shelter. Hope to get out in the next week or two.

Thats one heck of a deal. They list it as 40D fabric...silicone and PU coated but don't give a waterproof rating. Seems to be as durable if not more so than some of the $800-$1,000. tipis.

The fabric and components would be right about that cost if you made it yourself.

How does the craftsmanship look? Does it look like good sewing on the seams?

EDIT; they also have a pyramid version for $115- cheap

I’m interested in this tent. Any way we could get some pictures with a couple of air mattresses/sleeping bags in it for a inside reference. Thanks

I just got my Hexpeak in the mail on Saturday. Excited to get it set up one of these weekends. I’ll post some pictures once I do.

Thanks superKodiak I have a mountainsmith mountain shelter already. If I was in the market for a smaller shelter that would be great and very hard to beat for the price. That and it only takes one treaking pole to set up vs two on the mountain smith. I really like it with the tarp set up with it. I am looking for a shelter big enough for two people plus gear and stove and the XL may be it but am wanting to see pics with stuff inside it for a reference. Thanks again.

I have the standard hex. I didnt seam seal it and have used it in some weather with good luck. Granted I'm not in the PNW but the owner of the company is and they use them a lot. I talk to the owner about once a week about my opinions on things. I'd expect to see stove jacks in the hex platform soon which I've been asking for. If you are over 5'9 or if you always have the room I'd go the xl, the weight is not much different but you get that extra room.

How accurate are the weights listed on the website for you folks who have these in hand?

These offerings look pretty light, the mini peak seems to be one of the heavier options pushing past 2"(outer tent), while being somewhat smaller. I wonder if this is due to the double door?

$365 for one with a stove jack and a 1p inner... I guess I’ll don’t have to save up so much money.

Mine is Hexpeak standard tipi, 14 stakes, extra guy lines and tyvek ground sheet. 37 oz with both stuff sacks.

They sell the stove Jack's for I think around 60, so technically 40 to sew one in but it is a little pricey. I bought mine before that was ever an option so I will be doing my own

I sold my Hudson Tipi and replaced it with the pyramid outer tent and nest. I really like them. Liked my hudson too. But, with no need for a stove option, I sold it, bought this and put some cash in the hunting bank. Great gear. God Bless men

I got my V4a set up, seam sealed, and the cords cut to length this weekend. Maiden voyage next week in Montana. So far so good. My Griff is #45 for reference.
