1.1mm - seems to hold knots fine. Untying and handling is aggravating.

1.25mm - Doesn't knot well with the knots I use. Don't think I'd trust it under tension/vibration. Very stiff.

Interesting.... Do they both have cores like the strands in paracord? I've never seen this stuff before so I'm interested in it.

use paracord & bankline for everything. I usually just cut the knot out of the bankline instead of untying it since it's so cheap. Would be the case with the glow line

The 1.1mm has a stranded polyester core, but it's not stranded like paracord in that there are individual stands that you can remove. The strands in the 1.1mm cord are the super fine polyester strands that are the same (at least it seems that way to me) as what it's in the 2mm Glowire (and other similar cords).

The 1.25mm is smilarly constructed, except for the addition of Viagra.

Just to bump this back up; I have a package of the Lawson's Bar Tensioners- unopened. Anybody can use them shoot me a PM and I'll drop 'em in the mail. They look like they'd work great with the proper cord, I'm just sticking with the LineLocs I've been using.

Lawson's Tension Bars, en route to new owner.

has anybody tried out that ThreeBulls 1.8mm reflective cord they sell on Amazon? It's cheaper than everything else i've found, $7 for 20 meters, so wondering if it's any good.

I recently bought a 2-pack on Amazon. Each came in at 1.3 oz on my scale, for reference. I used one full length of it setting up my new LBO+3pc. I can raise it off the ground nicely now. It seems to be pretty good and bright. So far I've only used it in the yard, but it did get pretty windy the day I seam sealed.

I bought another 1-pack so I can have a bunch more line around. I'll probably bring that instead of 550 for backpacking trips.

I've always used whatever REI has that's reflective. As for securing it... I'm a big fan of two half hitches with a safety knot. It's easy to adjust the tension and stays put well. That and the bowline for a fixed line is an easy and solid set up for keeping things tied down.

I've used Lawson's & three bulls. Both good quality but I prefer the smaller Three bulls cord and the price!
