Anyone have any suggestions on how to best tie a D-loop? I recently bought a bow that I intend to tinker with and learn to tune with hopes of hunting with it. I have watched numerous youtube videos and have tied some loops that look decent. I have mushroomed the ends of the d loop material but just want to make sure I have it done correctly so I dont end up whacking myself in the mouth. Thanks.

The material you use can make a big difference too. I've used a few different ones and I find BCY #24 the easiest to tie a nice tight knot with.

When I mushroom the ends, I always kinda "smash" it down with the side of the lighter to make it a little bigger and flatter.

And just make sure your knots are on opposite sides of the string.

John Dudley is a great resource for videos on how to fully set up a bow. I highly recommend taking the time to watch him do his setup from start to finish. It takes a while, but you’ll learn a lot along the way.
