HPG Kit Bag on belt?

I am looking at getting a kit bag and am undecided between the chest carry and the belt carry. I will have occasions where each would be preferred. HPG offers a belted version with a wide sewn connection between the pouch and the belt, and the chest rig has connection loops on the middle of the pouch sides. I am wondering about the feasibility of removing the harness from the chest rig and connecting a belt strap to the side loops with g-hooks or removable buckles. Would this be good for making a dual duty item or will the loop connectors pull poorly or wear out from use with a belt? The belted application would involve medium light weight cargo with lots of sweat and bounce from activity.

Anybody have insights? Pros or cons? I found a little with a search but not enough to directly answer “making a belt” fir the chest bag.

I would call HPG and speak directly to them. They have always been very helpful with all my questions over the years.
