Idaho Unit 29 Elk Hunt

Anyone Archery elk hunting unit 29 heard any bulls start talking yet. Been here since the 6th and all has been quite around here. Watched a herd of about 15 cows for the last few days with no bulls in sight. My friend is in Colorado and has had bulls bugeling every day since the 6th.

I've heard bulls bugling since the 7th in several places just south of you. Seems like they're just getting going

Talked with several hunters who were in unit 33 the past 4 days---says they are a talkin.

I was not too far from there last week. They were talking moderately well, especially on the cooler days. The elk seemed more concentrated than last year hunting the same area. There was a giant herd hanging out in the old burn scars, and if you weren't in amongst them, your weren't hearing a peep. One day a cold front came through and it was a total rutfest. A couple days later in the week it got into the mid 70's and they shut down. Full moon wasn't helping either.
