Just got back from scouting for my january mule deer hunt was pretty pumped up being able to find deer especially since it's a new unit for me! Anyone else having any luck scouting for the january hunt?

I am going in blind this year. I hunted close by to the unit, about 60 miles west of it a couple times so I have decent handle on things. Just need to decide if I focas on cous or mule deer

Hahaha 1st come 1st serv I imagine! I'm hoping for 2 more trips if I can find 2 or 3 spots that hold deer it would be nice! Stalking will be tough it's pretty wide open

Were these bucks arround any does? If you didnt see any does the bucks may vanish to find hot does in December

I would disagree that them being around does right now has anything to do with what will be going on in January.... but, I saw a 28" buck completely harassing a herd of does the other day. Really unusual... he's gonna get himself killed. The rut is still a month away... things will change. Ed F

Talking NM ya I'm sure its gonna change just hoping they will be in the same general area maybe still looping for hot does!? Either way will be better than being at WORK!

Lots of bucks in 16d and 16e last month
