To those of you who have sewn your own quilts. I currently have a CRO quilt and love it but I wish it were 3-4” wider at the shoulders. It is a long/wide. I’m a side sleeper with fairly broad shoulders and drafts are an issue especially on sub 30 nights. I feel like if I could add 2-3” per side, just from the vertical baffles up then I’d be great. Would add minimal weight I’d think. So my question is how difficult would it be to add another baffle to each side? Is this a dyi project or should I send it back to CRO for modification? It’s 20d fabric with 850 fill. I have a machine but haven’t ever tried working with nylon or down. Thoughts?

I DIY a lot of stuff on the sewing machine...your skills would need to be at a pretty high level to tackle this. I'd send it back for customization, or sell it as-is and buy the wider width you want. If the latter, the other brand to look at besides CRO is Enlightened Equipment...they will customize wide or extra-wide for you.
