It entails, as with this year, 21 days so far covering 10-14 miles per day on horseback. Periodically you encounter an elk, kill it, pack it and resume recon until you run out of tags or strength. The weather calls all the shots. Here's what today looked like. Saw two dry cows but needed head gear.

You found good country. Hard to find 10-14mi of roadless in my part of the state unless I go to a wilderness or game range.
