I'm looking for a synthetic BDL stock for my short action mountain rifle. It can be an OEM Remington synthetic stock in BDL format, or a McMillan Hunter Edge BDL stock.
An original Remington synthetic stock will have the words "Remington - Short Action Mountain Rifle" molded into the barrel channel. See the attach photo. An OEM stock doesn't have to be perfect because it will end up being painted.
A McMillan Hunter Edge stock will need a mountain rifle barrel channel. The width of the barrel channel at the tip will need to be in a range of .640" - .688". As an example, McMillan's Hunter Edge stock for "sporter/magnum" rifles has a ending channel width of around .810"....which swallows up the thin mountain rifle barrel and looks goofy.
