My next 410 will be the Tristar G2 viper 410 turkey model.
I killed a nice bird last year with this. TSS #9 dropped him at 37 yards. I added a Bushnell TRS 25 to the top.
I tried a CZ 702 20 ga this year. One shot and it’s now going back to CZ for repair. The magazine follower is jammed half way in the tube, the barrel is stuck half way out and the action is seized. Terrible day hunting.

28 gauge is mo betta than 410..
Higher payload available
higher velocities for same payloads
basically same cost as 410

Just participated in youth turkey hunt this weekend. 30 kids, and a quite a few were using the Stevens .410 with TSS with excellent results.

.410 is hard enough to find, good luck with 28 gauge.
i have lots of it. Its not really that hard to find. Generally runs about $10-$13/box 25 lead #5-#9 . For TSS factory loads its generally available at Apex for $40ish per 5 in turkey. Cabelas just about always has it and I casually look for it online and buy 250 rds+ at a shot. I've gone about 1200 rounds through my a400 in 3 years

I handload 1oz tss #8.5 loads that'll wallop out to 50 yards if you want to buy some off me

I set up a Weatherby SA08 20ga for the kids and it shoots lights out with carlsons tss choke. Very happy with the setup for the price. Double X turkey #5 shot at 35yd (pictured)

I went through this a few years ago. Did some self testing. I killed a Jake at 20 yards with my old 20 gauge and low base steel 6’s. Bought a mossberg semi auto and some turkey loads for it to test for my wife, and it will reach out there. My wife killed the biggest bird I’ve ever seen at ~35 yards. A 20 gauge semi-auto would be my choice.

I've added the Steven 301 to my arsenal, just because. Switched the Burris out and went with the Vortex and a Sumtoy custom mount. The Picantinny rail elevated the red dot too high for my liking not to mention I ran out of adjustment while sighting in. Shooting TSS #9's.

The .410 is fun and easy to pack.
