I just got this newsletter from Bellm T/C. I've worked with them before and they are T/C accurizing gurus. If you're shooting the muzzleloader or any cartridge in the Encore, G2, and Contender platforms, they can help you make that gun shoot better. They are not a Rokslide sponsor but were such a good company to work with, wanted you all to hear about them.

Time to gear up for fall hunts!
This Mike Bellm TC's Newsletter is a quick checklist and guide to what you need to keep your break open guns accurate, and dependable.

See www.bellmtcs.com for:

When you have "fur" in your sights this fall, you have to know the gun will not only fire but put that bullet where you want it. Helping make sure that happens is what www.bellmtcs.com is all about.

Don't overlook any of the important issues described and linked to from the "........ Start Here!" page at the top of our menu list, http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=562 and be a good Samaritan helping your fellow TC shooters to also get the reliability and accuracy potentials of the break open single shot guns we support.

Here is a quick check list of the most important steps:
1) Tighten up the hinge with our Oversize Hinge Pin system, the easiest, cheapest, and often the best improvement to accuracy you can readily do yourself.
http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=7

2) Measure and adjust the headspace produced by the ammo you are shooting.
http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=172

3) Install one of our stronger hammer springs in your Encore or G2 frames, http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=86
or a fresh hammer spring in your Contender frames, http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=184

4) Get the trigger pull to a level that lets you do your best shooting, especially with the Encore and G2 frames. We are THE source for the instructions, tools, and springs you need to do it yourself or one of the shops we recommend. Trigger work items are given top priority in our menu list!

If you need to rely on your local gunsmith, please point him to www.bellmtcs.com for everything he needs to do the job right.
Whether you do-it-yourself or rely on your local gunsmith, you will find a full complement of all the Contender springs also, as well as the frequently lost forend dovetail locks:

Cold, gloved fingers need a firm grip on the hammer, and there is no safer, more secure means of getting a grip on the hammer than our Triple Lock hammer extension:
http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=93
I strongly recommend keeping the Pro Hunter swivel hammer pointed to the rear and installing our hammer extension. In my opinion it is far safer than the angled Swivel Hammer spur position.

Forend, grip, and buttstock screws:

Weaver and Weaver type scope bases seem to be the most popular, and one of the best choices for a rugged, economical Weaver scope rings are the Weaver Tactical rings:

I have used his trigger springs , hammer springs , interference fit hinge pins and trigger stoning kit and had great success with it. I ended up with probably the best trigger I've ever had and really tightened up the groups with the hinge pin.

I have been lurking on his site. I was going to get a barrel but got a good deal on a MGM barrel. I would recommend anyone with a T/C check out his site. I have wanted to do my trigger but don't know if I have the skill. Never worked on a gun before.

I do wonder how a tighter hinge pin helps accuracy? The scope is mounted to the barrel so if the barrel were to shift so would the scope.

I've got his hammer extension, trigger kit, oversized hinge pin and heavier hammer spring into my Encore. Great stuff. There's nobody better out there.

When I got my encore 308 barrel it was no better than 1.5" . Last weekend the friend I sold it to was shooting .6" group. If you have play in the action then it makes abig difference,. The trigger job was easy to me but I'm pretty comfortable working on things. Go slow and if in doubt ...quit. You can always grind a little bit more later but you can't put the metel back..
