Going on a high elevation hunt this September and plan to camp around 9000'...will I have any trouble with a MSR pocket rocket type stove setup for boiling water? Would any certain type of fuel canister work better than others as I know some have different "blends"? If the pocket rocket is no good, what would be some good recommendations?
Thanks!

Pocket rocket is fine -I’ve fired it up at 13k before. Isobutane fuels are all about the same. I usually buy MSR because it’s the most readily available.

Agree with Poser. You will be fine with a Pocket Rocket at 9K. Any of the name brand fuels will work fine as well.

EDIT: Remember that water will boil at 195 degrees at 9K. So, if you’re doing freeze dried meals you will need to let it rehydrate for quite a bit more time. I usually do about twice the recommended time when I‘m at 8-10K.
