I read about how bad winter was on the antelope last year and was wondering how this season was for those of you that had a tag in this area. Hope it went well!

I can tell you that I drove thru the area early last spring. There were more dead goats along the highway than there were mile markers. Sad state of affairs. Tags in unaffected areas will have lower draw odds as hunters who typically applied for SW WY will apply elsewhere.

FWIW, the mule deer situation is dire. The animals that winter in the affected area got hammered, and it showed in the high country this past season.

I spent a week out there in September near Rawlins It was very bad but a few survived. I have seen pics of a few successful hunters. If I had max points, no way I would be using them for a Red Desert hunt anytime soon.
