how about some bow details?

I can say from personal experience that taking a deer with a selfbow and cedar arrows that I made is one of the most rewarding hunting experiences I've had.

A properly designed and well-built selfbow is no less capable than any other traditional bow. In fact, some of my all wood bows are probably better than most! I have a John Strunk bamboo backed yew longbow that shoots 600gr arrows at 165-170fps. I built a short osage bow a few years ago to turkey hunt with, and that little thing smokes 'em. I havent shot through a chrono, but by feel, its a zippy little bow, much more so than alot of glass backed bows I have shot

It is a 62" Elm bow that has some reflex in from heat bending it. 50@30"

It's crazy smooth and pretty fast for a selfbow. Made by Marc St Louis with his heat tempering technique. You can see the torched belly in the video.
