Like the thread in the archery forum but for the traditional guys.

I'll start......

I'm back to shooting my early 2000 model Pittsley Predator recurve. It's 47 lbs at 28" and I draw it right at 28". Just worked up some new arrows for it, Easton Axis Traditionals, 340s full length, double brass inserts w/ 150 grain points and 3 rivers carbon collars. With wraps and three 4" feathers they weigh in at 670 grains. I recently switched to shooting 3 under with a 3 under Wilson super leather tab.

God Bless.

A Black Widow recurve, Holm-Made longbow (2), and A&H longbow. All in the 52# range. Easton Axis FMJ 400's with 100 grain brass rod from Menards glued in behind Gold Tip outsert for strength. 200 grain single bevel broadhead from ABowyer and trying Cutthroat this year. Great Northern quivers.

25 years in the game...gotta love the traditional simplicity and effectiveness.

Elk and hogs: Dwyer Endeavor 58" 52#@28" Easton 2016's or CE 150's with Zwickey Eskimos or Ace standard heads (total arrow weight 530gr)

Deer (stand hunting when it's cold): Sandy Biles longbow 64" 44#@28" Easton 1916's or CE Predator II with Zwickey Eskimos or Ace standard (total arrow weight 430-450gr)

All broadheads are double bevel.

Sometimes a Morrison Shawnee Arapaho recurve 58" 47#@28" with same arrows.

If the mood strikes me I will hunt with wood arrows just because I like making them and they get piled up in my man cave.
I also shoot/hunt Holm Made, Sarrels, Treadway longbows or an osage selfbow but just not as much for hunting. I'm just more dialed in with the Dwyer and Biles.

49# treadway one piece rf/df longbow. Brazilian rosewood riser and red elm laminated limbs. Mr. Treadway helped me build it for my senior project in high school. It was an awesome experience.

Pic...

By the way I killed my 1st stickbow deer way back in 1995. The past several years I've been hunting with a Hoyt Alphamax compound.

I'd really like to get a BW PSR. That's the next bow on my list.

I just shot 2 of them at the Kalamazoo Trad show...super nice bows. Shot a 56" 50#er and a 58" 55#er. A 56" will be my next bow.
