idaho motorized hunting rule help

is there a chip or download available for a garmin etrex 20 that will show me road designations in idaho? i dont want to hafto carry a smartphone or wast time on a paper map while hunting, and there is the motorized hunting rule where i hunt

Sure, you can get a chip with road designations, but the only way you can get the updated version of road closures is the paper map from the local districts. They change some of those roads every year so that's the only one that'll have the latest info.

so where how and what chip would you recommend? for the payette national forest in idaho?

Just order a Motor Vehicle Use map from the Forest Service office. They're posted online as well and I can usually zoom close enough to make out all the roads I need to know. I haven't needed a chip or anything because where I hunt there's not a million roads and most of them are open to full-size vehicles year-round.
