2nd antlered buck with my bow!

Bowhunting Wayne County in Southern IA this past weekend, was able to get my 2nd bow buck!

Crazy rut activity, saw 6 different racked bucks and close to 20 does on the small ridge system I was hunting. Rattled this guy in about 6pm Friday!

Shot him friday night, lost blood trail due to the damn rain. looked for a long time Saturday, no dice. Dad was able to find him Sunday morning. I unfortunately wasn't able to save the meat, which really blows as he was a good size buck. I'm going to do my best to honor the animal, just really hard not being able to salvage the meat. I am glad however that the buck didn't suffer much, he didn't go real far and had definitely died Friday night. Coyotes had gotten to him, didn't smell real great. Unfortunate, I guess that happens once in a while.
